Room for Forgiveness

We all need to forgive.

 

If you want to really happy and content you have to release any resentment, hurt, hate, pain etc., that you are feeling - even towards yourself! What has passed really has passed and you cannot change it. But you can learn from it and let go of the rubbish that is holding you back.

 

Take a blank piece of paper and write down everything that you feel has hurt you, mentally and physically, and the names of everyone who has hurt you. List the painful memories, and if revisiting them makes you cry then don’t be afraid to do so as this is an important part of releasing the memories. Pour out any hate, resentment or pain you want to release. This is your list and no-one else will see it (I say this as an assurance so that you really can write down everything that is troubling you as the list will be destroyed later on).

 

When you feel that everything is written down, sit with the paper in your hands and say the following;

 

“Almighty God, I ask for forgiveness for myself and all those who have hurt me. I ask for the pain to release and the joy to return so that I may raise my life to a new and better understanding.

I ask this now. Amen”

 

Breathe deeply. Breathe out the pain and fill your lungs with fresh energy. Continue until you feel free. If you feel like crying (or shouting) do so and allow your emotions to be released.

 

Now tear up the paper with all the (now) redundant words on it into small pieces and throw away into a bin, or shredder or burn it. You have released everything and you no longer need it. Well Done!

 

Finally click on one of the pictures in Room to Escape and absorb its calming energies for a few minutes and start to appreciate that you are entering a new phase of your life.
