Life...but not as we know it

What an exciting world we live in, and what a potentially wonderful life opportunity we have!  We are presented with amazing choices that are available to every person who is willing to utilise them to fulfil their needs, their goals, and at the same time inspire others to do so as well.

Does that sound like a perfect dream; or even a figment of your imagination? Maybe, but that is the life that we are all presented with originally by God when we come to this Earth. It’s what we do with those opportunities that makes us what we are - when we are born we are totally naked and have nothing - contrary to popular opinion, we are not born good or bad. We are not born as salespeople, or leaders or millionaires (although our parents could be any of these), but we are born with the power to become what we choose to be as our life develops.

God made us the protectors of the Earth, a role that generally we are pretty miserable at! As human beings we also have another role, and that is to ‘be good neighbours’, and at that we also fail. So we're not doing very well as a race when we have massively failed on our two most important tasks.

Instead, we have developed a lust for adventure, power and profit, with the focus mainly on financial and territorial controls, which are apparently not for sharing! This is not God’s idea of real power. Power is sharing what you have, with others who have not. Having an abundance of anything and then keeping it all to yourself is incredibly selfish. This does not just apply to money or goods, but importantly to knowledge and attitude too.

Knowledge of how to succeed in life and how to make your life better should be freely available to all, and that means working together. Until we realise that you have not come to this Earth solely for the benefit of YOU, then there will always be conflict of some sort.

When challenged, we immediately become defensive and say that “I worked hard for this, it is all mine”. That is quite possibly true, but when what you have what amounts to millions (or even billions) in money, then do you really need that much to make your life fulfilled? Amassing and gross excess, purely become a competition to get to the top of the rich list. What a waste!

Why not use some of your excess to help others that are not so fortunate as you, whilst at the same time still retaining more than you could ever spend! Would that not work? We don’t mean just give your money away without thought or reason, but use it to make a difference to other lives. People like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and Charles Freeney (and many others) have all set up foundations or charities to help others less fortunate. And they succeed by teaching other people without their entrepreneurial gifts, to make something of their lives and learn how to live without needing a crutch.

Sharing and looking after others less fortunate is what we are supposed to be doing in our lives.
Sadly, current events show us exactly where we are with our lives and our attitudes. There is however, a light at the end of the tunnel, and that is that we really do have the knowledge and ability within us to work together and initiate positive change for the overall good. It just takes enough people to want the changes activated for this to happen.

The lesson here is - don’t wait for someone else to do it for you. You start it! Helping someone in difficulties does not need to cost you any money, just a little time, knowledge and compassion. And you’ll feel good afterwards, believe me. All you have to do is give it time!

Time is one of the most precious things we have available to us. It is always new and it is always ready for change. If you waste time in any way, it is lost forever and you can never get it back. Don’t say “I’ll do it tomorrow…” when you have time to do it now!  Just go and do it! The rewards are fantastic!
